Recipes and Everyone is Invited to Post

Thanks Miles and Pat to get this started.

The First one on my list

Cake Frosting
3 Cups Sifted Powdered Sugar
1/3 Cup Crisco(NOT liquid, Shorting only)
1/4 Cup Boiling Water
1/2 Teaspoon White Vanilla or any White Flavoring

Beat until smooth with mixer.(Make sure you have a mixer, this usually takes 10-20 minutes to mix.) Taste just like store bought.

Learned this one in 4-H also.

Chocolate Chip Bread for Bread Machine
Makes 1.5 lb loaf

1 (.25 oz) PKG Dry Yeast
3 Cups Bread Flour
2 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoon White Sugar
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
4 Tablespoon Butter(I use Blue Bonnet)
1 Egg
1 Cup Milk
1/4 Cup Water
1 Cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips(Freeze first are they will melt)

Set aside the Chocolate Chips do not add at first and keep in freezer until needed, other wise it will be chocolate bread. Trust me I know.
Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select white bread cycle; press start. Add the Chocolate Chips at the signal beep or about 5 minutes before the kneading cycle has finished.

Sweet and Sour Sauce
Makes just a little more than a Pint Size Jar

3/4 Cup White Sugar
1/3 Cup White Vinegar(I have used white wine vinegar and red wine vinegar)
2/3 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
1 Tablespoon Ketchup
2 Tablespoon Cornstarch(If you don't have it, it will come out runny but still good)

Place ingredients in a medium sauce pan(I use a small to medium), and bring to a boil. Stir continuously until the mixture has thickened.

It will not be as red as regular sauce you buy in the store, but taste the same to me anyways.

Jalapeno Bacon Poppers

Jalapeno Peppers(I use 20-30 peppers)
Cream Cheese(I use 1 regular pkg)
Bacon(I cut the pkg in half)
Toothpicks(I just have the box out)

Wear Gloves when you prepare this.(I don't because I am used to them)

Wash peppers first. Then cut peppers in half, remove seeds.(I do not remove all the seeds, only 95% of them to give them a hotter flavor.) Fill centers with cream cheese. Put halves back together. Cut bacon strips in half. Wrap bacon strip around pepper and secure with toothpick.(If pepper is really big use 2 toothpicks) Place on cookie sheet. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees, or until bacon is done.(Keep an eye on this because the bacon grease will start to splatter. So I have to drain this 1-2 times in the cooking cycle.)When done place peppers on a couple of paper towels to soak up grease.

Home Made Maple Syrup

1 Cup Water
1 Cup Lightly Packed Brown Sugar
1 Cup White Sugar
Dash of Salt
1 Level Teaspoon of Instant Coffee Crystals(I only use Folgers Classic Roast)

Put all ingredients in a medium size sauce pan and bring to a rapid boil. Make sure you stir this all the time. Also it will want to boil rise on you so becareful and start to turn down the heat. Boil for abut 5-10 minutes then let it cool off to the right temp. that you like it at.

It taste a little different than maple syrup but not bad after the 3 time.
