Radio Stays On Upon Exit.....

My wife has a 2003 Exp. and yesterday as she exited the car after turning it off and removing the key, she opens the door and the radio is still playing(not supposed to obviously). She started the car back up and checked all her doors, turned it off and still the same thing happened. She removed the neg battery cable and everything went off and upon putting it back on, things stayed that way. Before she attempted this, she did turn the radio off by button and clock was still on.....
Now this morning as she was leaving, she opened her door and no interior lights, opened the rear passenger door and interior lights came on. No lights upon entry or exit on the left side, now radio is staying on again, unless as she realized, she opens the passenger door to cut it off. So what's up?

I know my 01 F250 is having interior light issues not going off with the driver's door, but I believe that is due to my lock button on my driver panel working intermittently, so it needs to be replaced, but now her's just started something crazy yesterday. Any advice?

Is it a new radio that was recently installed? Sounds like it's wired up incorrectly so it's getting constant power.

Is the dome light coming on when the door is opened? If not possibly a switch or switches sticky or going bad.

The driver's door jamb switch is stuck. Try spraying a good amount of WD-40 into the latch then open and close the door 10-20 times and the interior lights should start working again.

BTW, the reason the radio stayed on is because it will do that until the a door is opened. Since the driver's door switch didn't work and send the "I'm open" signal, the radio didn't turn off.

Yeah, she sprayed it with WD-40 (she's a real hands on type of girl) and that seems to have solved the problem. Thanks again!!

if the radio stayed on, wouldn't that rule out the door sensor? Maybe another GEM issue?

Nope, the radio stayed on because the driver's door switch contacts were stuck and never closed. So as far as the GEM was concerned, the door never opened so it didn't turn the radio off.

Always try to open any of the other doors...if the radio goes out then the driver door switch is the culprit.

I'm having the same problem, on mine if you open any door the radio stays on, making me think it is something other than a door switch, any help would be great.

Is it a factory radio?
Has it always stayed on, or did this just start happening?

also the memory seats not working,(but there is power to the seat as I can adjust them manually)and the easy exit option not working, and the autolamp not working. The message center that displays the easy exit feature said "data error" when scrolling through those option, also the auto lock feature said data error.

Is there a module that controls these features? All this just started the other day all at once so I'm assuming that they are all controled by one item or module or something

thanks
