Multi quote button

Can someone tell me how to effectively use the "multi quote" button?

It has a + and - sign associated with it.

Do you highlight text?

Couldn't find anything about it in FAQ's
Thanks
Ken

I've never seen the - sign associated with it. The way I use it is just hit the multi-quote button at the threads you want to quote, then hit the quote button on the last quote and type in your responses between quotes.
