Help! Sirius does not display info

My wife has a 2007 Expedition with the factory Nav and Rear DVD. The dealer is trying to add Sirius radio to the factory radio and it isn't working. I can hear the music/talk from the Sirius channels but the head unit does not display the channel, artist, or song information. The dealer has replaced just about every component in the system and the system will still only display info for a couple of times and then the info display goes blank, never to return.

Any ideas out there?

From what I understand, the dealer has replaced the two Sirius components(?) and the head unit in the dash. The truck goes back in this week to replace the power relay. The radio will display song infomation when first installed but after several power on then off cycles, it quits displaying infomation. At that point you can still hear Sirius music, you just can't tell what channel you're on or artist/song information. I know last summer when I called another dealer, he said that you could not have Sirius installed if you had the Nav/Rear DVD package in a 2007 Expedition. He said Ford was working on a fix for this and should have one by spring 2008.

Did they mean that it cannot be installed after the fact or that it is not compatible with the Nav/DVD? I am assuming that you mean installed after the fact because I have nav/dvd and sirius.

They (Ford) originally said that you couldn’t have Sirius dealer installed (not factory) because it was incompatable with the Nav/DVD in a 2007 Expedition. I just can’t figure out why it works until you turn the truck off and power it back up.

TIKT B8, do you have the interface that allows you to use the factory radio controls?

Dealer installed a power relay part to the system this week and all appears to work okay. Thanks for the responses. I'll let you guys know if it stops working again.

I had my dealer install Sirius to my '07 with navigation and I've never had a problem with it. Your (Ford) source is wrong. My VIN is *A000168* one of the first ones built in July of '06, so I'm sure it will work on anything built after that.
