Any jobs in Colorado

Hey guys and Gals, just wanted to know how hard is it to find a job in Colorado, Im in Chicago IL right now and do like here at all. I have been living here my whole life and been wanting to move for a long time. I would be looking for entry level road construction work or firefighter. Any info would be a great help. I have Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, I also used to be an carpenters assistant we used to install kitchen cabinets and countertops. For a hobby I do woodworking like cabinets and dressers. Im a fast learner, Im good with my hands. I should of went to a trade school but wanted to get an Associates Degree.

Well holy hell...I can tell you that with that experience, you shouldn't have a problem finding work here. What certs do you have if any for firefighting? Lots of brush stations out here. Could be a good time to get in with one of them. With an assoc in criminal justice, you could take your POST cert test, get that and be good to go in law enforcement if you wanted to do that. And I know of a couple of lcoal shops that do counter tops and cabinets that may need a couple of poeple. Check out the local paper here online....Rocky Mountain News : Denver News, Business, Homes, Jobs, Cars, & Information

BillyBob69, I dont have any experience in firefighting, its just something I always wanted to do, I enjoy being outdoors and really like to help others. Im looking to move to a small town, Im a really friendly person and enjoy metting and talking to people. Im really tired of living in a huge city esp. Chicago. I do like Colorado Springs its a nice size city. I also have been to Elizabeth, Pueblo, Salida, Montrose, Grand Juncton, Trinidad, ect. I would love to move to any of these citys/towns. Just having a hard time finding a job there.
Thanks ~Gage~

You won't find much in Elizabeth, (my home), for work. I commute 50 miles one way for work. But still worth it. Of all the towns you listed above, Elizabeth is the smallest. As for the others, I would consider them living in the city. Or at least the suburbs.

Have you thought about working for the forest service? I think they are hiring for rangers. Full law enforcement powers but you live in the mountains in a home they provide.

I live in Colorado Springs... I know right now that there are alot of road construction going on....and Fort Carson is growing and build all kinds of stuff. Might be an idea....also Fountain isn't to bad....small town, with easy access to the City.

Do not know if you are still looking but there always wildland fire jobs in the summer out here where u can make pretty good money. You do have to have the proper certs though. they are not hard to get if you are interested drop me a pm and i'll get you lined out on what you will need to do.
