Whats this '66 worth????

I have stumbled upon a 1966 F-100 SWB truck that is the most original that I have seen that has not been restored to original. It is not a custom cab, just a plain old truck with the painted grill / bumpers, steel wheels & original hubcaps. This is what I would call a good ol' "Papaw Truck". It is a V-8 (352), 3 speed on the column, 119,000 miles with engine rebuild at 90,000 miles, paint is fair, and the current owner says it was painted about 20 yrs ago. Current owner says he knew the original owner and has known this truck since new. Documents show this truck was bought new at the Ford Dealership in our hometown. Cab-mounts, crossmembers, floor pans, all in great shape. I can find no rust in this thing anywhere, it is a solid southern truck that runs and drives as good as any twin I-beam ford I have been in. Everything works as it should (wipers, lights, etc.). This is supposedly a 3-owner truck with the original owner having it until 2004. I'm not really in the market for another truck, but you just don't see them like this anymore. I have a '53, '67, & '72 but never owned any of the 61-66 trucks. I ain't trying to steal this truck, but I don"t want to lose my backside later if I needed to sell it. Help me out with some real world $$ figures. Thanks in advance.

There was one sort of like you describe, in Martinsville a few years ago for $4500. This Spring I ran across a 65 long bed near Stuart, VA which I would call an "un-molested original". Asking $2250 it needed paint. There was one on Ebay recently that didn't meet the reserve- bidding ended at $4050 I think This was completely restored (in Critz, VA area) Hope this helps a little, George.
