Need advice on 1994 F250 4x4
I just bought a sharp likking Black 1994 ford f250 4x4 with 33,000 miles and a 5.8 automatic- mainly to plow my driveway but would like to keep her looking nice.
I just pulled the Fisher plow out of the bed by tying a tow chain around a huge tree as well as the plow frame and driving forward a few feet. When I did the plow came out but it pulled the chrome trim piece on the top edge of the tailgate to the left about an inch or so and also pulled the pins out that hold it in place and bent the end of the trim a bit. So now the tailgate will not close. What is the best way to straighten out that piece of chrome trimaND knock it back to the center?
She also has a leak coming from the 19 gallon side mounted fuel tank or possibly from a fuel line. I've heard these tanks can rust and need replacement every few years or so. Has anyone replaced one of these? How difficult is it and how much would it cost to have it done?
Also want to sand blast the chassis and paint it. Any recommendations on that? What type of sand blaster will work, where can I get it and does anyone rent them?
Any other tips?
thanks,
Gubas

Hey Gubas...welcome to FTE!!! You might try posting these questions in the "1987-1996 F150 and Larger Series" forum. I'm sure lots of guys there have had similar issues and will be able to help you out.
While you're snooping around here...why not check out the other threads in the New England Chapter and consider joining the Chapter as a member??? No cost or obligation to being a member. We have a pretty active core group of guys who meet each month for some sort of nonsense. We're always looking to meet new guys...hope to see you at one of our future GTGs!!!
Where abouts in this great Commonwealth do you reside???

thanks for the advice
I did add my question to the f150 and larger category. I got the chrome trim back on so I dropped htat part of the question. Still thinking about removing the rust from the chassis and replacing the leaking fuel tank.
I already filled out the section to join the NE group. I'm out of Rutland, MA just west of Worcester. Look forward to making one of your get togethers at some point...
