higher radiator cap pressure

ok guys i'll ask this here where im more likely to get an answer eventually ..... i am going to have my radiator recored and the tank patched or replcaed { it popped a seam } and replace the water pumps . what i wanna know is after i double check everything including running a compression check / leak down test , and i'm sure its all ok what pressure of a cap do you think i can use without issue . i'm thinking about jumping up to a 7 or 9 pound cap . i used to do this on other old rides as a way to raise the boiling point of the coolant . so ..................................

are you REALLY expecting to run truck that hard? if system is in good or better than good condition, you should have no over heating problem. i don't think you will hurt anything, but, what are you going to gain?

naw petey aint gonna run it that hard . gotta remember im still a bit of a flatty rookie . my mind still works in the late model frame most of the time . it gets pretty warm here and was thinking it might be a good thing to raise the boiling point , but thats why i asked so i could here from you guys . so it sounds like a goofy idea , so we dont do it and move ahead .

I've got two words for you: Wetter Water. Ever heard or used it? I've run it in all my vehicles. O'reilly's or Auto-Zone should have it, go see and read the bottle. I would
think just a good cap would be fine. Better than a rag, which I used when I was a pup.
How many blades are on your fan? Maybe try finding one with more blades. Bob
