Thumbs up Husky Liners Molded MudGuards Install

For those of you who are interested I have decided to post some pics of my install for the Husky Liner Custom Molded MudGuards for the 07 and up Expeditions.

When I had my 02 Explorer I liked the look of the OEM molded mudflaps and was hoping once I got the Expedition I would be able to add them as well.
No luck.. they only sell the flat mudflaps so I decided to try out the Husky Liner version.

Each set comes with a strip of 3M paint protection film to apply to installation area.

You must mark the drill locations to fit the u-clips. You also use the existing screws for the install.

The installation was fairly simple.
I was lazy and chose not to remove the tires for the install.
The instructions say it may be necessary to removed the wheels.
Drilling the innner most hole was the difficult part but not impossible.
For the front set I turned the wheel to give me more room for installation.
I also decided to forego the 3M protection film for the front set, only because I'm pretty sure I will not be removing them.

Total installation time was about an hour(30mins per set).

I am very happy with how well exact the mold was to the fender wall and the OEM side steps.

I highly recommend them and I hope you enjoyed the pictures.

The Huskys won't fit on the "off road" trucks, but Ford Parts Direct (or similar name) has the official mud flaps that do. They mount prett much the same way.

Is that an 07?

I asked my local ford dealer and they told me that the only ones available were the flat type not the molded.

I have the same mudflaps and they do a great job. To me they give it a very finished look to the truck.

Mine is an '07 and the mud flaps are Ford parts.

But a web search didn't turn them up for me just now either.

Ford calls them splash guards.

Probably with some good plastic paint, but I'm not sure. Maybe the OP has more info for you.
