79 F350 4x4 SC 460ci T-18

I bought this truck to make an off road rig out of but found out it may be very rare and colectable. Are these Super cabs really that rare? I found another 78 that is started as a long bed and now is a SC with a short bed. It has the divorced t-case and low pinon 60 unlike my 79. Is that anything special also. Its cheap and has new tires and all new springs. Is any body interested in any of these two rigs? I just put mine on craigs list but will cut it into a mud truck if I don't sell it. Yea hypoid, how many Stumpalumps do you know!

LMAO Mike! Question is how long before you PO the Mods and Admin? At least you didn't pay for the abuse here like at some other sites.

There is a '73 to '79 forum, and a classified section as well.

1973 - 1979 F-100 And Larger F-Series Trucks - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

They will get some national exposure.

Burg 460 has some nice F-350s, one a Crew Cab that he converted to 4x4. It has one bad-*** 390 in it. Maybe he can give you come more info.

BTW, Bassdude is selling a nice set of 44/60 axles from under his ol' Scout. Check the site in my sig.

I allready got acused of being an ebay grubbing newby troller over in that section. I had no idea I bought anything other than an old truck and asked them the best way to cut the frame to make a trail beater out of it. I know now I have a rare truck and will try to find a better home for it. I won't try long then I'm going to add a doubler to the T-case, weld the spiders, remove front fenders and relocate the rear axel to just behind the cab. I'm needing it to leave in Raton NM at the off road park my buddy is building. Im looking for some good used tires about 38" to 44" on 8 lug rims if you stumble across any. It's a really cool truck and for now I'm just going to clean and tune it while I wait to see if a collector or enthusiast wants it. In a way I hope it turns out to be a trail monster. I'll let you know how I make out and can hual your azz to Raton to help build and run trails in it. We need to break in all the new trails. It will be more fun when I have my own rig down there. No way am I bringing my XJ and leaving it. I got 10K in mods in that sucker and it works perfect. I did Independence trail in Penrose last week in it. Well I did liberty and stayed off the cliff faces. I'll leave those for the rock buggys. Tell the ladys on NAXJA....... Dang this site has no flipp-off smilely!

Yeah, they like to keep it PG-13 around here. If you can believe it, I've been called to the principle's office a couple times. I got a week in time out for the last infraction. All that you have to remember is that this is Ken Payne's business venture. LOL

Get past that and there is a ton of useable info here. I've managed to meet some pretty decent people on this site as well.

I saw your rig in the pics Frank_Z posted...lucky buzzard!!! Last trip I made in the XJ was to my daughter's graduation in Grand Junction. Denver to Eagle it averaged 14.5 MPG. I filled up in Eagle, drove around GJ and re-fuled in Clifton for the return trip: 22.5 MPG. Returned to Golden with an average of 17.5 MPG coming over the hills. I kept the tach up with less throttle, got better mileage by going a little faster. I attribute that to manifold vacuum.

Past that I've been spending all my time and money in the little Ranger. Most everything I have replaced was put on at the factory. 4 cylinders, 8 plugs, never seen wear like these. The ground electrode was eroded from side to side, gap was around .090, engine still purred like a kitten:
