Headlight Adjustment

Could someone tell me where to start:

I've replaced the headlight assemblies on my 1997 F350, but I'm not sure how to properly adjust the headlights before I put the headlight doors (bezel) back on.

I looked thru the forum, but I found no information except for the removal of the headlight door (bezel).

Thanks in advance

IIRC, there should be hex head screws with torx bit holes in the middle of them...black screws......don't know if that help or not.

Thanks, flareside_thunder. I'm sorry, I guess I should have been a little more specific.

I have identified the screws, but the method of viewing the lights for adjustment is what I was trying find out....is there a standard for projection on a wall or something?

Thanks!

I do it at night on a road that has a level, straight section that has no street lights and is totally dark. I adjust the low beam just right of center line of the road as follows.

Passenger side low beam straight out in front of itself and the drivers side at the same level but just in toward the center line of the truck so it won't blind oncoming traffic.

Then I adjust the high beams to spread out evenly to both sides. at a higher level then the low beams of course.

Then test drive and make any fine adjustments needed if any.

Have someone stand in front of the light you're not adjusting to block its light so you can see exactly where the one you are working on is pointing.

If people are flashing you when running the low beams you have them set to high.
