Any problems replacing a 1991 Ranger 2.3 with a Mustang 1991 2.3L
My Ranger 2.3L 4-banger went belly-up at 170,000 miles. A guy has
a 8 plug 2.3L out of a 1991 Mustang that runs good that he offered
to sell me. Does anyone know if these are basically the same engine
and can be swapped out with limited mods? Someone else told me that the engines are similiar but different - like the EEC management. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

i believe the mechanics of the engine are pretty much the same, or from the research i have done they appear to be. but if your truck is a 4x4 you might run into a problem with the oil pan. but if it was me i would grab everything related to the wiring and computer if he will part with it.

If I'm not mistaken, the engines are
identical, you shouldn't have any problems...
