1988 Ranger 2.0L

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Dec-02 AT 10:36 AM (EST)]

I've got one of those "vacuum nightmare" carburetors!!! My question is, could I replace it with just a straight carb and get rid of most of those vacuum lines? A guy at work told me I could but I wanted to get a FORD ENTHUSIAST opinion. Also, anyone know what a good replacement is? Hope to hear a reply.

Not carb smart,
