Best Tuner,Chip,Programmer for 2002 7.3 Diesel

The truck is a 2002 7.3 Turbo Diesel with an automatic and it is a 4x4/ little bigger tires too. I was wondering which Programmer would be the best. I have read a lot articles saying Programmers were the best because they can tune the transmission to the engine and visa versa. Unlike tuners and chips which just change timing, fueling, etc...

1. I assume the 7.3 can use a programmer?

2. I am looking for one with an economy setting and a mild power setting. Power setting should be reliable (I know pay to play) but i still do not want a wild tune.

3. One that can monitor egt's and boost.

So who makes the best custom tunes?

Thanks Adam

i will say dp. i had a edge and its sittin on the shelf waitin to sell. it did monitor egts and stuff but im gonna get dp as soon as i can afford it! i would go with a dp and true gauges. like i am. i asked the same thing when i first bought my psd and they said do it right the first time and now i know why the edge is a no no. like i told somebody i think the edge is better when you add the evolution to control trans its all bout how much you wanna spend now instead of later

O sorry which tunes are the best

1) 80 hp economy tune?

2) 100 hp tune (is this tune to much for the stock truck)

3) I have read Jody is one of the best custom tuners for the 7.3s do you have to send here your info and then she will write you the tunes and email or send the programmer to her to program.

4)The X3 powerflash costs 379$; is that with the 3 tunes or do you pay the extra for the tunes?

Thanks Adam

That just about settles it except for the cost question. Is it 379$ plus the $ for the tunes or 379$ for tuner and 3 tunes

Thanks Adam

i personally would get your intake/exhaust done first. if on a budjet go with a 6637 napa filter and muffler delete. a straight pipe 7.3 is not loud as one thinks really just a good bit of flutter as its called. if you wanna spend a little you can get a good 4" turbo back for about 300 or 350. napa filter is about 30 bucks on fleetfilter. and no a 100 hp isn't too much with exhaust. EGT's is your exhaust temp you DEF. wanna keep an eye on that your trans temp and boost psi are also a important thing. are you gonna use your truck to tow anything? the great thing about jody and dp is you can put up to 16 tunes on it. you can get 3 now and send it back as you want more!!

Youbest bet is to talk to jody directly and he will customize the tunes to your truck and driving habits, Him and Diane are great.I don't have a DP yet but judging in what I've seen & heard there is no better when it comes to tuning and customer service,
