timing chain broke

f150 4.9 1988 timing chain let go garage just called bummer.What kind of damage should i expect ?only 146,000km still new?

These are non interference engines, so shouldn't be too bad unless the broken chain took out the cover or caused any external damage.

EDIT: Oops, you've got a big 6. The 6 doesn't have a timing chain, it has timing gears, IIRC. More work to replace.

ok thx miss understood garage.Is it still non interference motor?
