First UK MOT test for the F-250

Had to take my F-250 down to an MOT testig station on Monday as it was 3 years old. I was a bit worried given the UK Gov'ts alleged interest in the environment - but needlessly as it sailed through....
However it was one of the funniest tests I've ever seen!! Starting off with the testers goggle eyed amazement at the size of it... Then the tester opened the pssenger door and jumped in - only to look at a blank dash with the steering wheel and control on the other side...
Once in the testing bay the emissions test was cariied out and again... and again... - reading was 0.3, the tester was expecting to see 1.5 so they thought the meter was broken. Then they needed the mileage figure and thought the electronic odo was the trip only so I had to shpw them how to work the trip - they found it hard to believe a 3 year old vehicle could only have 8,860 mile on the ****. Eventually they finished though and after parting with £50 I wandered off clutching the 250's first ever MOT certificate!!

he he . i took mine in last month , had to take it to a commercial tester as its a little on the heavy side.
expecting the worst as usual , it passed. just a couple of small pointers.

The tester thought it was quite amusing, apart from the size of the excursion we were watching the mpg go down from 11mpg to a little over 4 mpg , when they did the emmisions :O , can you hold it at 2700 rpm while i get a coffee sort of wait.

to be honest the emmisions were fantastic, they had to use the old system here as the excursion is not listed

the co had to be under 0.20 and at came in at 0.01
the HC had to be under 200ppm and it was only 22ppm

i think that the emmisions were great considering the size of the beast.

as for waiving the congestion charge, i'll just change the number plates if i ever have to go into the city again last time i had to go to liverpool st station we paid the bill, all for about 100 yds really clever the way they marked the area out. tight london borough councils again
