George gets a new engine.
Before
After
Specs
460 .030 .010 off deck 10.5:1 Comp balanced and blueprinted
Ported polished and port matched Trick Flow aluminum heads w/ stainless CJ valves
Comp cams Pro Mag roller rockers
3/8" pushrods with guide plates
Custom ground Lunati Voodoo Cam
Recurved distributor
Weiland Stealth intake port matched to heads and casting flash removed from runners
1" carb spacer 750 Holley (looking for a 850 replacement)
L&L 1 3/4 primary 3" collector headers
2 1/2" pipes with 2" H pipe and dual Flowmaster super 40s
some 500* rattle can paint
Should make a tick over 500hp and right at 600tq
Ive put my 545 on hold for now. Im waiting to buy pistons after I decide just how far Im going with it. The original plan was naturally aspirated with forged pistons in the 10:1 range but before its all said and done there could be 1 big turbo or 2 small turbos in the works. The sky and my wallet is the limit.

HAHA. Without starting a offroad forum style debate... there will be no BFG ATs on this truck ever.
I put those tires on there so the cherry picker could reach the engine and lift it over the radiator support. It was too tall with my swampers.
Here it is with the bigger tires on it.
The 545 will be super expensive to build the way I want it even if I go the NA route. The turbo deal is more or less a brain fart because I really dont want to swap over to EFI and its waaaay too much trouble to tune a blow through carb. Id also have to go to an aftermarket block and billet crank. The upside would be 1000+ streetable HP.

Are you intending to put the 545 in George when you do build it?
#6
No....trouble to tune a carb for blow through. EFI is simple to setup for a turbo but I just dont want it on George. Dont ask me why because I dont have a good reason.
Harry,
The yoke is on its way to you.
Yeah the 545 will one day be in George. I have to build the truck up in phases. So far Im on phase 3 of 300.

Thanks Rich.
Carb'd engines make sense to me. I wont even change the spark plugs in my 04 2-fiddy.
Yall need to help me find a 850cfm carb and some leaf springs. Ive saved up some $$ and Im motivated for a change.
Check out the door panels I started building tonight.
