Unhappy Leaving FTE & Fla. Chapter

Hello fellers,
I find I'm too old or to dumb to slog my way thru the maze to get any worthwhile info from these forums. I.E., it took me 10 minutes or more to find/decide where to leave this message. I have had difficulty navigating this site from the start. This old dog doesn't learn new tricks very fast anymore, and I just don't have the time to try an figure it all out. I know it is a great tool for many of you and I wish you well.

If at anytime I can help or you think I might be able to help any of you, you may contact me at the address below.

Now I take my leave, assuming I can find the unsubscribe tab. grin
C'ya,

Was just looking around different chapters and saw this post.
Although we don't know each other, I read your post and can understand
your frustration. Since they redid the software it is increasingly harder to
get anywhere.
The day of the simple mechanic is long gone. Gone are days also when you
could rebuild things so as alternators starters. Poor guys at the parts stores
if they can't find parts within the confines of what kind of car, what year,
engine size etc. it doesn't exist. God forbid they would pick up a book and look
it up most don't have books anymore.
No you can't teach old dogs new tricks and at 54 I realize that more and more.
Wish you all the best in your endeavors and keep the faith,
sometimes knowing all the old stuff pays off.

Well sorry to see you go Arthur, even though this is our first interaction. This site CAN be quite overwhelming. If you are willing to give it another go-round, I can certainly give you some pointers on how to navigate this place, and "easily" find certain items.

If you are willing.... respond here, or send me an email. If not, may happy trails be ahead.

I have never seen one single post you have posted.

I dont like to see people take off from here, and you know if you ever need help navigating around here, there is a ton of people, including myself that would help you out no questions asked.

Hope you change your mind

I just noticed your thread and wanted to add my support Arthur. Hopefully you decide to give the site another shot. I totally understand how frustrating it can be (yes, even at 28) but truly hope you give it another shot since as you yourself said, it is a great tool.

I'm sure an old dog can appreciate the value of a new tool enough to give it a try. You have plenty of support here as you've seen in the posts before mine. As the new Florida Chapter Leader I can tell you, you have my full support for everything from posting to searching etc etc. Would love to see you in the Florida Chapter forum. Maybe you could come out to a meet with other members in your area and tell us young kids how it was done(how it should still be done probably) in the old days.

Anyway, hope you read this and hope all is going well. Stop on by our Florida Chapter forum, we could really use your knowledge all over the board I'm sure. We would be glad to have you!

You know - maybe I've read too many books in my life. But since I first found FTE when I was figuring out how to build a truck that literally FLEW me across country coast to coast twice, even with all of the changes I have always found FTE to be the best of the best organised and managed Websites/Forums I have ever seen anywhere.

I can LITERALLY walk down the rows of forums, and pick what I need right off the shelves just like in a LIBRARY...

If this fella can't figure out FTE, I wish him the very best of luck, but I doubt seriously he will find what he needs anywhere else.

Honestly!

And I feel bad about the guy for whatever it is - whyever it doesn't just make sense.

But we can't help everyone. Some are just not "helpable"

I can fix anything. But "PEOPLE" are not "THINGS"

I can't do much of anything to change them.

That's why I'm a TECH and not a counselor....

Broken people are the hardest things to fix in this world

I hate to here you are leaving Arthur, I just wish you would have spoken to one of the moderator's and tried to work it out. I understand that the site is not for everyone and I for one thank you for not trashing it. I hope you find a site that can give you what you are looking for, and if you don't you can always come back here. Good Luck!
