What tuner are you running? also I'd dump in some of the diesel clean cetain boost. What size tires does he have? are they both autos? Also you might want to run in 4-high and if you have a boost gauge get your turbo spooled befor you launch. you may beat him depending on weather he knows what hes doing, what programmers you both have, what size tires you guys are running gear ratios, pluss the dmax may blow up.

Remember, he's the boss - maybe you should pull him at the start and juuuuust let him nip you at the line.

Sorry I can't answer all your questions George D, He has a programer that can be turned from tow mode to performance mode is all I know about his and is running 35x12.50s. He said he has never pushed his in performance mode. I believe him on that also. With that in mind he shouldn't know about spooling it up. As for mine I don't even know for shure what type of tuner it is, I bought it from a used car lot as is. I know it has one for shure, a few of my friends have the same trucks and one has his tuned with cold air intake and big exhaust. We raced he pulled me about half a truck in the start but never left me then at 80mph I flew by him. Mine never shut off. Both auto's, mine with stock size tires

Well if you have the stock tires not sises but actual tires they put on at the factory you may be done for no tracktion. his 35s sould hook up quite nicely with a conservitive 2x launch anr a boosted 4x lauch but his IFS might brake. You might want to do some test lauches to see where you get the best traction. But there are still many unknown verieable and you may actualy have more than enogh truck to spank him I'm not that up on 6.0s.

Disclaimer launching in 4x4 is very hard on the truck and may result in driveline brakage,t-case brakage or other drivetrain damage or damage from broken drive shafts flailing about.

just thought I sould let you know it no with out risk. But there are lots of people that do it quite often. And to me the juice is worth the squeez but it would take a while to live down braking your truck while racing him.

Oh and let us know how it turns out.

I will repost after we race (should be next week) in same forum. If I win I will be posting it in Superduty section also. Yes I really dont want to 4x4 him, scared of breaking something and never live it down and I mean never.

you wont break nothing w/ a 4x4 launch, he definately will. I personally think that is the only way you are going to beat him is if you launch in 4hi. Tuned or chipped dmax's are pretty peppy and they are light. Another advantage you could have on him is how the allison acts. They like to fumble through the gears on hard tuned runs, even do it stock if they have been putting around town then you floor it. i think you are going to need some hats

The allisons also have a uselessly low first gear well atleast for racing and around town driving so you might get him out of the hole if you can hook up and from my expieriance in my younger and dumber days thats half the batle make the other guy nervus. Not as big of a factor with autos though. Oh and good luck

Is his truck brand new, or just new to him? If it's an 08, go buy some hats...If it's an older one it might be close (depends a lot on chips/skill)...

Stock against stock, I "think" the Dmax is quicker...
