Good quality? FFA content? Hydrogenated? Is it separated and filtered? I have seen it for $.50 (I would consider that) and as much as $1/gal (I wouldn't pay that much for it).

It is strait canola and it titrates out to about 4. Not prefiltered but pretty clean, and the barrels are supplied.

I would probably do it, if it was near me. The time collecting is worth something. And I am having a hard time finding good sources around me.

If it's a good price for YOU....GO FOR IT ! Offer less and if they really want to get rid of it you are golden. Why do you need to "purchase" it? Don't they normally have to "pay" to get it hauled away?

I was assuming this was a case where someone collecting oil for their use had exess they were going to sell you the exess. If you have to go collecting yourself I don't think that is a good deal at all.

In the area I am the renderer doesn't charge for their service, and they pump out the grease traps as well for no charge. And the renderer has scared them a bit telling them that they need to only let liscenced haulers take the oil becasue they are liable for any spills..etc.. Compared to where I recently moved from where they were "how can I help" kind of people.
