Problem with the Heated/Cooled Seats
the heated and cooled seats buttons on the AC cluster will not light up or it will light up for 30 seconds and shut off and therefore the seat will not heat or cool. The passenger side works fine. Took it in to be fixed and they replaced the motor and it worked for awhile and then shut off again....any suggestions??

CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT FUNCTION
INOPERATIVE - NO COMMUNICATION - DCSM -
VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO 8/31/2007
ISSUE
Some 2007-2008 Expedition and Navigator, 2006 Zephyr and 2007-2008 MKZ vehicles built before 8/31/2007 and equipped with climate control seats may exhibit inoperative heating and/or cooling. There are no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) associated with this issue and IDS/PDS will not communicate with the dual climate control seat module (DCSM).
recomend you take it to the dealer

Isolate & Troubleshoot
Part of your problem resolved itself in that if the passenger side works fine, you know that the module is okay. That also tells me that the problem is limited to the driver's side. I would suggest suggest getting a nice bright light and a mirror to look under the driver's seat and see if you can see and or hear the blower motor running. There are also 2 heating elements in the seat, one in the seat back and one in the seat cushion. If the blower motor is working, I would be inclined to say that a check of the seat cushion element is next on the agenda. The wires in it are prone to stretching and shorting out. Think about it: Which seat gets the most use/abuse over the life of the vehicle?
