Spring Cleaning.. Dirty 20s, how to get them clean?

I just did a spring cleaning on my truck after a fairly harsh winter.. I bought the truck last May and was hand washing it every once in a while to keep the rims (and I use that term loosely) nice and clean.. During the winter I gave up on cleaning them due to the weather and now when I tried to clean them last weekend there are brownish/yellow stains on the outer edges of the six spokes. I assume this is from brake dust? Anyone have any ideas how to get this off, I tried scrubbing with a wash cloth and armour all car soap but no luck. Don't want to try anything too harsh for fear of ruining the plastic chrome finish! Hah..

I use a horse hair brush and the same soap I wash the truck with. It does take several tries to get them claen but they always do. I have waxed(Zymol) the fakie chrome cover but it doesn't last long. "Wheel Wax" is a waste of time IMO.

Brake dust is murder to get off. Might take some real elbow grease to get that stuff off. I always wash the wheels twice a month, rain or shine, just so it doesn't have a chance to build up.

I wash them weekly(a habit) but I use race pads in my other cars and they dust like mad. You really are left with little choice with dust from race pads...well you could just let them rims look like crap.:-) Every other week rain or shine is good advice.
