Bio, Here we Come!
I just secured my first weekly pickup of WVO. It won't amount to much at first, 30 gals a week or so, but its a start.
My processing tanks will be on a truck from Iowa next week.. then I've just to get a drum of methanol and some misc. valves and pumps.
Going from fabman's example over in the biofuel forum, I think I'll use magnesol for a chemical wash, so that I'm not waiting days for batches to "Dry"
Next will be a diesel powered Volkswagon Jetta or Passat... 40mpg for less than $10k with a fuel est. cost of $1.00gal? SOLD!

Well, My first Dr. Pepper method batch was a horrible failure, haha
One of the jugs I picked up at jimbos was a oddball smaller container of peanut oil (others were soy oil). This oil looked to be unused, so I used it for the test batch. What I got was about 2" of bio and about 1 liter of soap sludge..
(I'm thinking that just the fact that was old / sat outside /absorbed moisture possibly made it more acidic)
For the 2nd test, i picked up some virgin canola oil, and from what I've seen so far, it looks to have worked better.. I won't know until the morning when I can get back down to the shop and see what settled out.
I got some pics of the failed batch, and I'll get some of the (hopefully) successful batch in the morning
Happy Easter everybody

Here's the failed batch: soap!
And the successful batch using 100% new oil:
Successful 3/27 test: (here you dissolve 3ml of your bio into 27ml of methanol and check to make sure the bio completely dissolves and doesn't settle)
I'm going to play around with a mini water-wash on this batch tomorrow and see if i can clear it up.
I figure at 1 Liter of bio, I have 1/2 a tank of dino in my truck, this works out to like 1/55 or roughly B2.
I hate to waste it, but I'm going to run many many more tests on this before it goes in the truck
