Greetings! Picked up a used 98 Explorer Sport in August. Love the vehical. It has a couple of problems, though. I can't open the tailgate with my key, nor does the power lock work on the passenger door. I searched this site for diagnostics. Evidently I may have to replace the door lock motors? Is there a seperate fuse that may be causing the problem?

The vehical came with just one key and no info about the keyless entry. How do I go about getting another key and info on the keyless entry?

If the system works similar to the like era f150, you can buy another key from the dealer or ebay. They are all over. You will have to get it cut at the dealer though for sure. Then if you have a theft deterent ignition you have to program the two to like each other. I forget exactly, but its a series of key in key out, ignition on, ignition off. It should be in the owner manual (dealer or ebay again). The keyless entry should be similar too. I would talk to a good service desk and they should be able to tell you for sure and then you can figure out what to get off ebay or dealer or whatever.
