Smile Original Sale Price

Hello Everyone,

I have a 1976 F-100 Custom Explorer, Trailer Special, C-6 auto that had a 360 cid. Does anyone know what the original sale price of this truck was back in 1975/1976?

Thanks everyone.

Not sure, but I would say in the $5,000 to $6,000 dollar range.

I bought my first Ford F250 in 76 and paid $7500.00 with a plow and 4x4. It was not a XLT or Lariat just a plain old custom..

In the US. Is there a site I can go to or view a sticker price sheet on-line from 1975/1976?

Thanks

Boy did you get ripped off. Wasn't the sticker prices of these trucks in the low to high 3000? Mine 1974 2WD Custom 2 tone with 360 and C6 was $3316.

Back in 1977 we snapped up a nice copper metallic F-150 4x4 regular cab/long box from our local Ford dealer for $4495 ,on sale, with a 6 cylinder and a NP435 4 speed (Custom level-no radio, spare tire, nor back bumper; basic vinyl seat and floor mat, no ac, etc.). A year later my brother bought an identical spec black with red interior 1978 model for $5295. If I could go back in time, would buy five of each and have a lifetime supply of what is arguably the finest generation of truck ever made.

$15,000 how do you figure? My dad's 1984 Stepside hardly cost half that new.

I was always under the impression that back in the day 4x4 was nearly twice as much, in my understandings it was like that in the 40s and 50s anyhow but then again im a young buck and dont know lol.
