I have seen this stuff for years. I figured it was just another snake oil product, man was I wrong. Bought some of the wipes for $3.50 last night and tried them out. In a decent rainstorm it worked so well I did not even need my wipers! The water just rolls off the windows. Not sure whats in it-wax maybe- but for freeway driving in the rain, it rocks.
If you hit 80 MPH it looks like the water does not even touch the windshield. GREAT stuff but it can cause wiper chatter with some blades. GM blades seem to chatter after a fews weeks with the rain x on. I just reapplied it and the chatter went away but a PITA none the less.

i have used it for years, works great. I even use the Rain X windshields washer fluid now, it has small amounts of rain x mixed with the wash solution. Works pretty good too.
I always thought this stuff was a PITA to take off, but still worth the effort. Just tried my non-orbital buffer/waxer with a terry cloth cover to buff the Rain-X off, and it's great. Makes it easy to do ALL the windows, even the sides.
Rain X lists two washer fluids. The one with deicer is marked below 32 degrees and contains 70% methonal (little harsh on paint too) the other is for above 32 degrees and has Rain X water beading formula and 40% methonal.
