with or without canopy

Hello everyone I have been doing some thinking and I am not sure if I like the canopy on my truck or not. It is nice to have when it is raining and you need to haul things and keep them dry, but it also is hard to see out of the back. I also kind of think that the truck looks cooler without the canopy, I have been thinking about getting a tonneau cover. Take a look at the pics and let me know if it looks better with or without the canopy and if I should keep it on or not. I cannot decide. here are the pics.

That's a particularly ugly shell, it would look better with a Leer or something like that. I had one that was even uglier on mine for a while, and while I did like having the covered storage, I hated the loss of visibility. I breathed in relief when I got that thing off of there. But I would consider putting a nicer one on, especially if it had a window so I could see out the back. (Mine had no window in the front of the shell, so I had no visibility between the shell and the cab.)

i agree with tigerdan i think that a shell isnt bad looking just that one is. it is too tall for your truck. but it looks like you have some room there to store the shell somewhere so if you do need it you have it. but for every day driving around i would say no shell.

If I wanted a canopy I would have a van. Use some of the anti-fog cleaner on the rear window and all glass.

I sure wish You were closer so I could talk You out of that topper it's hard to find one that looks like it's right out of the 60s. New slick ones just look out of place on an old truck.

Loose it.

BTW, they make excellent redneck doghouses. You can store a whole pack of coondogs under that thing!

I like the tonneau cover. They make those that fold or rollup making access to bed a lot quicer and easier.

My 72 came with one like yours but a touch shorter in height. Took it off and I personaly liked it better with it off.

Funny thing is that the same cap (canopy) looked better on my 83 F250 4x4 with 3" body lift. I sold the 83 with the cap on it. It seemed to fit the look of the 83 better than the 72.

In my gallery you will see what i mean. The cap on the 72 in the picts is the same cap I moved over to the 83. Sorry I don't have any pics of either without the cap in it.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I sold my canopy this weekend and it looks alot better without it! When I bought it I only paid $50 for it and I sold it for $150. I finally do not feel like and old fart anymore... just joking, the funny thing is that I sold to an old guy. Thank you all for your input.
