K&N Air filter?
#4
I used to be a huge beliver in K and N. While I think the filter itself is build well and they have their place in cold air intakes, etc. I think that you have to have the perfect oil content in the filter to get a good balance between airflow and filtration. Too much oil, restricted airflow, dirty MAF sensor, etc. Not enough oil, great airflow, not great filtration.
I am sticking with paper for now. Prices are high, but they should come down.
Oh, and on the two trucks I had KandN filters on, i noticed no increase in anything.

i have the drop in K&N and have noticed better throttle response slightly. Plus it was $30 and the paper ones are close to $20 and are not readily available near me except at the dealership.
I have used K&N type filters in my last 3 cars/trucks and have never had an issue, and I usually keep my trucks to at least 100K.
Personally i wish someone would come out with a cold air intake so i can remove the crappy stock piping. Has anyone taken it off and looked at how restrictive it is. It is unbelievable.

You say to keep the paper filter and add a tuner, tuners void the warranty alot quicker than any suspension changes.
Plus there are no tuners available yet for the 07 expedition, I have already checked, plus if you do get a tuner you will need more air flow than that paper filter will ever give you.
