Im noticing my truck is hard to start now that Im running Bio from a local station. Its b99 I belive. The truck will turn over and over, but nothing. Then when it finally starts alot of white smoke comes out. Is this normal?

 

Sounds like your glow plug system went out. Try plugging it in overnight. If it starts better then I would say the glow plug system.

 

OK that sound right. I know the glow plug relay is out or going out, but it has been bad for a year or so. I has just never been this hard to start before, so I thought it might be the fuel. How long do I leave it plugged in for? Can I leave it plugged in too long? Also do I leave it plugged in while Im trying to start it? Thanks for the help.

 

You can leave it plugged in all night if you like, but it really only needs a couple of hours to be effective. I don't unplug mine until after I start it in the morning...makes no difference either way.

If your truck is a Ca. emissions vehicle you will have a glow plug controller instead of a relay.
