Has anyone tried the brite box and a hid conversion kit? I am thinking it might be too hot for the lens. Any info would be appreciated.

 

All of the HID kits offered at www.dabears2k.com are 3x or 6x (35w or 55w) brighter than stock headlights and yet burn cooler than stock headlights.

The way hi/lo HID's work, you won't get any advantage with the bright box and will just be wasting money with it.

Standard bulbs have 2 filaments. Normally one is on for high and one is on for low. The bright box runs both filaments on high, giving you more light.

With HID hi/lo's, there is only one bulb and there is no filament. Hi/lo beam is achieved by mechanically moving the bulb. Since the bulb can't be in two places at once, it can't run high and low at the same time.

You will get better performance by going with an HID kit on standard headlights than going to a brightbox and running halogens.

Like I said, the HID kit will not melt the housing and will give you up to 6x as much light as stock halogens.
