Well guys.....

.....it's a good thing the '69 will always stay in the family. As of today she is the only Ford (well, except mom's Expedition) that is in my whole family (Mom, Dad, and 3 brothers.....).

*Runs for cover*

Haha......I dunno. I'm happy so far. We'll see what kind of mileage I get (03 Dodge Quad Cab 4x4.....HEMI). My brother's 03 reg cab with 3.92 gears gets about 13.......Mine might have something closer to a 3.55 set. On the test drive the computer showed 13.9. We'll see.

EDIT - Just to add....
They gave $6500 for the 98 with 192,700 miles. It had the 4.6L (never got that good of mileage though....12-13). 45,000 on the motor and 65,000 on the tranny, with a rear end that was on it's way out. I needed new shorts when I saw the numbers......got into this Dodge right. I have to say, they're not a bad pickup. They certainly look better than a Chevy!!!!

Yea. We sold it in Central City. I'm not there much, so it's OK. I just hope some punk kid doesn't buy it and beat the crap out of it. Don't get me wrong....I beat her a little, but it was WELL taken care of....

Jake in a Dodge. Oh no I cant believe it. Ya you must have fell for the hemi. Most young guys do. Youll get older you will be back in a Ford. Life lessons are hard. Hey youd look much better in a F-150. Jk good luck on the hemi an Dodge. Probably get the same gas mileage as your Ford though. Be prepared for problems. Remeber I warned you. JK again good luck. Dont get rid off that 69. We will have to banish you for good.

The '69 will never go!!! According to the overhead console it does quite well by me. The 4.6 got 13 around town.....once in awhile it would break 14. On the highway I did get 15.7 out of it one time. Driving around town last night it never dropped below 14. Coming home on the highway it hit 16. I got to 16.4 on the gravel (only going 35, I don't want to chip it up too bad....). We'll see what happens when I calculate it by hand. I think the thing that helps it out alot is the 3.55 gears. My dad's and brother's both have 3.92's and can't get the mileage that I have (so far anyway). I'm sure if we raced there would be a difference, but it still feels PLENTY strong.....

-Jake

66,000 miles.....never pulled with, hasn't been on much gravel........

My oldest brother bought an 01 new.....had tranny troubles right at the end of warrenty....got an 02 or 03 (had the old 5.9) and didn't like it. It was a dog and got bad milage so he got an 03 super duty (V10).....then my 2nd oldest bought his 03 HEMI and the oldest went to an 05 with a Cummins and a 6 speed (sweet pickup). My dad got an 07 last fall. We'll not talk about my next oldest brother.......traded his 99 F-150 for a new Chevy early last summer

-Jake

EDIT - My truck is at Grosshans in Central. I'm wondering what they're gonna put on it for a price, cause they gave $6500........

EDIT EDIT - No, I'm not back in school yet. I go back the 14th......I have some time to get this pickup like I want it. I just hope you guys will let me drive it to our G2G's (if we ever have any!!!)

Oh OK I was going to stop there on my way home but didnt. Would have checked to see what they wanted for it. Maybe I should call them up to inquire about your trucks price. Im sure you dont want to know. Probably want $10,000 for it. I was in Grand Island yesterday an looked at the new superduties. Sweet trucks. I see quite a few Dodges around Central City. Cant figure that out though. No dealers close.

The closest one is Roy's in GI. I can't say I'm too impressed with ANY dealer in my area. We got the 07 from Fremont.......If you're seriously looking at my old one let me know, I'll give you the low down. If they sit on it for awhile they will deal. They had this Dodge when dad was looking last fall.....told him his 97 Lariat with 142,000 was only worth $3,000..........

How man used car dealers you got in town. Looks like you got several from what I could see. Off couse Groshhans is new truck mostly dealer. So Jake is your truck mechanically sound. Nice to talk with the former owner thats always a plus.Hey I jst drove a F-150 yesterday also. If you get tired off that Dodge an wanna switch brands go to Roe Buick an Pontiac in GI. They have a nice off selection off many different brands an was impressed by the people there. Was looking at used 150 there.

We do have alot of used dealers in town. Most of the small towns around GI have one or two as well. The only thing really wrong with my pickup is the rear end. It has a slight vibe and howl. It's been doing it for quite awhile. I'd been babying it (for the most part) and it was OK. I don't know how much longer it would run (maybe quite awhile). The power steering (at least I think that's what it is....) has a litte growl too when it's cold. Once it warms up I don't notice it. It's got the typical 97-98 rust on the bed, and the 97-03 crack in the door. It is still in pretty good shape though. I just hope I can get this Dudge to sound as good as that pickup did. It really wasn't that loud for true duals with no mufflers, but I don't know what I'm gonna do on this one yet. My brother has a Flowmaster 40 on his '03 and it sounds nice. The price tag is pretty nice on a Flowmaster though. I guess I'll look into it more.....
