What is the highest MPG heard of in a 460
All I was trying to say, and this was in response to the 460 in a Honda getting absurd fuel mileage, was :
take a 460 and a 302, put them on a stand, no tranny, no weight, no nothing, and same fuel delivery (fi, or carb), run them at same revs
if you hook them up to a tank with 1 gallon of fuel the 460 will run out of fuel first. which is exactly what you said. I left some things out of my previous post. oops, sorry.

No Problem, it's still too early.
With the price of fuel standing at $1.759 a gallon here and supposed to be going up more, It's hard enough to run my Harley @ 42MPG let alone my F250 @ 7-9.
Last Month we were at $1.259. $.50 a gallon rise in 2 weeks is BS.

What is the highest MPG heard of in a 460
I have to go from Winnemucca, Nevada, 800 miles to NM pulling my 40ft King of the Road 5th wheel to see my Grandkids in about 3 months and then through Phoenix, AZ to see my son and my sister. Over to Yuma,Az to see my other daughter and Grandson. Then back up to Northern Nevada. About 2200+ miles total. Everytime the fuel cost goes up the more I think about taking the trip in our Stratus (35mpg) and staying at Hotels and Motels and eating in Restaurants. May be cheaper. OUCH.

I have discoverd I have 5.13 gears to go along with my 4spd.
I feel pretty good about the MPG I am getting with 5.13 gears.
But I plan on changing to 3.54 gears and putting on some taller tires(running 235/75/r16 now). Leaning out my motorcraft carb. bringing in some colder air to the carb air filter. And some other things. I will let you know. I am not talking towing with this ring. This is my daily driver, kid hauler, occational hunting fire wood hauling rig.
So far I have not heard of any one getting over about 15MPG.
Greg still want to try and get better than 15MPG.
