my drivers side heated seat has stopped working,i have heard that the common problem is the element,can someone tell me if this is true,and if so,can i buy them from someplace other then a dealer?

 

Yes, like a light bulb, they eventually burn out. I'm sure there are other sources; do a search.

 

I have 2006 lariet. The drivers side seat heater is not working as well. Is this a common problem? Also from what I have read it is a quick fix, by replacing a couple of wires. Is this true?

 

i have talked to a few people,most of them a wire breaks in the bottom and can be soldered.i checked mine with an ohm meter and it's not open,but resistance is low compared to the other.so i had to buy a new one from ford.it was cheap 35.00 so not too bad

it's not too bad take your seat right out,it's much easier,the hardest part is getting the hog rings back in to hold the cover down in the middle at the bottom,you can buy the pliers yourself if you want.
