Uh...it would be helpful to know what you're working on. What year, carbed or EFI? What engine? With a little more info we can steer you in the right direction.

This can be a little tough...with EFI there are lots of integrated systems, it's not as simple as hooking a up a single hot wire to the ignition on an old-style points-ignition engine. I'll have to dig out my wiring diagrams and see what I can come up with.

What are you trying to accomplish? Is this for an engine swap, or just doing away with a bad ignition switch on a farm truck or...???

Ah, that makes a difference. There are a few systems we can do away with then...but you're allowed to run EFI? Is it circle track, drag, or what...? (I used to run a mini-stock in circle track racing, but we were only allowed to run carbs, no EFI...)

I'll see what I can come up with...

For EFI you will need to retain the computer wiring harness, engine sensors, EEC and fuel pump relays. To use a toggle switch, wire it to the EEC relay from a fuse to the battery positive, and the fuel pump contact side of the relay. The EEC relay powers the fuel pump relay coil and the engine sensors and computer. jd
