I think the EL has a bigger tank than a non EL. There may be a good reason for this I don't know. When I fill up I find myself saying words like %(*&^$#$ and even *^&!!!#$@!. It is part of owning a Expedition.

I traded my 04 excursion for a 05 expedition a couple of years back and had missed the excursion tremendously ever since. Last week our local dealer called up and said they had just got a 08 expedition el in and we went up to take it for a drive. It feels a lot like the excursion to me. The hood is raised up and it drives a lot like the excursion did. We ended up picking it up and are really enjoying it. Now I keep slipping up and calling it the excursion when talking to people.

The gas mileage sucks but the people room is off the charts. No body sells anything currently that comes close. Your passengers will love you for the purchase...and so will all the local gas station owners.

This 07 Expedition is ok, but I really miss my old 94 Bronco, what a beast! Go any where on road off road it did not care. I think if I would try to off road this 07 it would not go too far with out a problem in the drive train or tear off something out of the bottom of it. The 07 Expedition is NOT a Bronco. So I just stick to the streets and highway. If you plan to do any off road I would get a F150 or F250 4x4.

Excursion vs Expedition

I just traded my 2003 V10 Excursion Limited (135k miles) for a 08 Expedition EL limited. There is little difference in the fuel economy, so don't make the decision for that reason.

They are different vehicles. The Excursion was very much a truck. . . The Expedition EL is very comfortable, quiet, smooth and car like. It parks like a car and drives like a car. Handling is fantastic. Very Very Nice. . !!!!! The Expedition EL Limited is a luxury vehicle. The all wheel drive is great as opposed to 4wd in the Excursion. These vehicles are night and day. It is like comparing a Lincoln to an F-250.

Amen to 08ltdel. Loved my 04 exc but it handled like crap. The new exp is a lot of fun to drive and actually tows really well while still keeps good handling. JUST needs a supercharger.
