Click Link -> New Window
Whenever I click a link on here it opens it up in this window. I always have to Right click - Open in New Window. I hate that. I've been through my User CP and haven't found anything. Is it in there?
When I'm researching something I like to have a bunch of windows open so it is easier to find the source of the link, and maybe other links within that post, after traveling from link to link and page to page, sometimes it is very hard to find the original.

With IE 7, you can set it up to use Tabbed folders for new windows. The tabbed windows are accessed by clicking on the tab.
If your computer can run it, download IE 7. I have been using for a year now with no problems.
For IE 6, its been awhile since I used, do you have under "tools" an option to open links in a new window?
Your problem is not with FTE but with your browser.
