Temp sending unit location

Where is the temperture sender location on my motor? My gauge isn't working and I'd like to find the sender but can't seem to locate it.

The sender for the guage is on the passenger side of the head towards the rear, kind of a tricky place to get to. You may have another temperature sender near the thermostat housing if your truck has a computer; it doesn't affect the guage though.

Ok thanks. That's what happens when you stretch out these things, I'm sure I forgot to hook it back up when I had the head off about a year ago, but I just now got it running again. I'll hunt around for it.

I found it. Thanks, Can someone verify the correct wire for me. There is a wire in a plastic loom that is hooked into a bracket right behind the head. Is this the correct wire? I couldn't tell what color it was other than it was darak, it is cut off too so it has no end on it.

That sounds like it, I seem to remember mine as a dark color. Haynes manual says it's red-white stripe.
