How many 59 F100 panels and Pickups were made?

Where would I look to find out how rare 59 Ford panel are compared to 59 Ford pickups. I plan to fix up my pickup first because it has a much better body, but when I go to car shows and I have only been to a few small ones, I see tons of cars a few pickups and no panel trucks. I know there are shows just for panels so I know there are a few more folks that like the panels like I do. I was wondering if you fixed a panel and a pickup alike would the pickup sell better because of popularity or a panel for being more rare? Where do I look to find out how many panel trucks and pickups were made in 1959? I really do not plan to sell either truck but wonder if I spend a bunch on the panel would someone else want it also.
Thanks ford any help
Mike

First off RARE doesnt always indicate more value. That said the panels ARE more rare than the pickups. I think panels have their own following and some pickup guys like them too ( I have 56 pickups and one 56 panel)

Production numbers for the style side pickup 112,082 for the flare side 26,616 these numbers include both short and long bed f100s

Now panels IF you have a custom cab panel it is indeed RARE @ 982 units, the standard panel 7,963 units.

One has to remember that MOST panels lived a hard life for deliverys etc.

Will the panel bring more money? I dont know, maybe , but not 10 times the amout of the pickup.

It's hard to say. The panel will be harder to restore since none of the panel-specific parts are being reproduced. The panels are practical for hauling stuff and as *******' wagons, but lack of visibility to the rear makes driving and parking them in the city not so much fun. Panels do look cool as 4x4s, but so do the pickups.

I suspect if they were both built up to the same standard, they'd fetch similar prices.

Thanks for the info. and your opinion. I hope to get the pickup on the road after Christmas.A friend has the shop and I'm shade treeing it for now,so he'll do the clip and get it rolling and I'll take over from there,I will be a slow process.
Thanks, Mike
