Can't fill fuel tank very fast 05 CC LB
Seems that sometimes, when my tank is near empty, I can't fill it very fast without having the safety shutoff on the gas pump shut the fuel flow off. Doesn't seem to do it all the time, and happens more often when I get below a quarter tank. Even if I just trickle the fuel in, it'll shut the pump off...sometimes...
Vents seem clear... I hate the search on this forum..I searched for "Fuel tank fill" and "gas tank" and "Fuel tank" and got back everything from trailer hitches to tire pressure.

That's a common problem for most of us but normally its us diesel guys who have the issue. On the diesel side it's all about foaming.
On the gasser side it's usally due to a kink or bend in a line somewhere. Have you gotten up under the truck and taken a peek? The only time I've heard of thses kinds of issues are when there are kinks in the line to the tank.

I had the same thing on my 05 F250 CC SRW XLT V10. There is a TSB on this (https://www.ford-trucks.com/tsb/full...p?tsb=06-19-15) and when I had my truck in for something else, I took the TSB in to show them. They replaced the canister and seems to be fine since.

Here is the updated TSB on this,
TSB
07-23-13 SLOW FUEL FILL
Publication Date: November 12, 2007
FORD: 2005-2008 F-250, F-350
This article supersedes TSB 07-15-4 to update the Part List.
ISSUE:
Some 2005-2008 F-Super Duty 250/350 vehicles equipped with a 5.4L 3V or 6.8L 3V engine may experience premature automatic shut off of the fuel fill nozzle, or repeated fuel shut off at the fuel station delivery nozzle. Vehicles operated in muddy or dusty environments can encounter a dirt-clogged carbon canister system. More specifically, the carbon canister's vent, fresh-air box and filters become clogged with dirt from operating in such environments.
ACTION:
Use the following Service Procedure to resolve the concern if the carbon canister system is dirt clogged.
NOTE: THIS TSB ONLY APPLIES TO F-250/350 PICKUPS, AND F-250/350 PICKUP BOX DELETE/CHASSIS CAB VEHICLES
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Inspect the vehicle canister system and if it found to be dirt clogged then continue with this TSB.
NOTE: IF THE VEHICLE'S CANISTER SYSTEM IS NOT DIRT CLOGGED, THEN PROCEED WITH NORMAL DIAGNOSTICS AND DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THIS TSB.
Vehicles with Pickup Boxes:
Replace the carbon canister assembly with a canister built after 10/1/2006. This canister has a revised internal filter media, and went into production on 10/1/2006. The date code is on a black sticker located on the carbon canister assembly.
Relocate the fresh-air intake port to a more protected location using the fresh air hose kit, for pickup applications only.
Replace fuel cap assembly if the vehicle was built before 5/16/2007.
Vehicles with Pickup Box Removed or Chassis Cab:
Replace the carbon canister assembly with a canister built after 10/1/2006. This canister has a revised internal filter media, and went into production on 10/1/2006. The date code is on a black sticker located on the carbon canister assembly.
Relocate the fresh-air intake port to a more protected location using QVM bulletin Q-132 at the body builder's website - https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/index.htm for fresh air intake routing recommendations.
Replace fuel cap assembly if the vehicle was built before 5/16/2007.
