If I remember correctly, there was an issue in general with vehicle break ins in the Puyallup area during that time frame...Perhaps you can look at the King Five News website or inquire with the County Mounties.

IMO, alarms are a waste of time and money, so is locking your vehicle.

-Vehicle alarms go of so often that people don't really pay attention, other than thinking the owner needs to shut the thing off...Kind of the 'Cry Wolf' thing.

-If parked at home, let your dog bark, and respond with a loaded weapon. Most people will not 'F' around when there is a dog, and will back off when they see someone responding with a rifle...My 30-30 stays loaded and next to my side at night.

As far as locking a vehicle...I have a friend in the Bay Area that is an owner Foxy Lady Clothing...Though the factory was in the worst part of town, he would never lock his Beemer or Mercedes...When I asked him about this, he replied..,"If someone wants to steal my stereo they will...I would rather not have to pay for the broken window in addition to the stereo. If they steal the car, then it is stolen!...My insurance will cover the cost."

Ever think of setting up cameras? I know it won't stop the punk, but it helps catch'em.

Add a scope, and you have video!

The Winchester Model 1894 is perhaps the best known of the Winchester repeating rifles, chambered for the newly introduced smokeless .30-30 Winchester cartridge, and later, a variety of calibres such as .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .45 Colt, and .44-40. Winchester were the first company to manufacture a rifle chambered for the new smokeless cartridges (the Model 1894 was designed by John Browning), and although delays prevented the .30-30 cartirdge from appearing on the shelves until 1895, it remained the first commercially available smokeless powder round for the North American consumer market. Though initially it was too expensive for most shooters, the Model 1894 went on to become one of the best-selling hunting rifles of all time- it has the distinction of being the first sporting/hunting rifle to sell over 1 million units- and US production was not discontinued until 2006.

Two words here:

DEER CAMERA

(Preferably digital)

A friend of mine had some parts ripped off from a place he uses for storage, he now has a deer camera setup to take pictures of whoever crosses it's field and triggers it.

The downside is I bet he has a lot of pictures of cats...

I was thinking cameras as well. I could set them directly to the hard drive of a computer or put them on line. We only have about 6 cameras looking at my truck and driveway.

I've always wondered about setting up remote sensors and a bullhorn with a taped message at my house. Come in the wrong way, lights come on, and you hear a taped message:

"Hello - you have entered my security perimeter and are on video right now. Basically you are screwed..."

It honestly would not be at all hard to set up.

Hmm a Deer Camera wired with a taser so when it takes a pic it also knocks their *** to the ground. OOO i like that i idea. I have always wanted to wait in hiding then hit them with a taser or paintball guns. Call the cops and tell them to look for someone with paint all over them. Paintball guns are not illegal anyways but stings like hell when you get nailed. Or ask a cop how much you can beat their *** before you get yourself in trouble.

i would add ``the alarm in the house is now sounding, owener of property is waking... please leave before he reaches the gun safe and gives you a red dot``

I use two alarms (less then $20 each) in the drivways that watch our RV, my truck, my van and my wife's SUV. The alarms alarm in the house if anyone apprears. We also use the same in AZ for the driveway and the patio. Also have automatic lights all around. The lights help with sight of/for the AR-15 w/cap mag and 45 judge colt. (I would rather be judge by pears then crried by my friends.)
Only had gas taken once back in the early 70s. The cop that lived at end of the road said his son did it and he would take care of the problem. Found a 20 dallar bill taped to car window a week latter.
