Hi all.
I was wonderin' if any of you guys (or gals) have done the road into Death Valley thru Titus Canyon. If so, is it too tight for a crew cab pickup? Appreciate any feedback.
I went through about 10 years ago in a full size regular cab long bed pickup (85 Dodge 2500), it's hard to say as it's in a wash and it changes. It's a beautiful drive if you can make it, it reminded me of some of the side canyons at Lake Powell.
Was my ex husbands truck (although my current husband has one too, he had it before I met him, but he likes my truck better!) Still was a nice drive through the canyon though.
I'm going in a couple of weeks. Guess I'll find out one way or another. From all I hear it's a beautiful ride, but some say it's quite narrow & difficult to find turnouts in some places. I don't expect to encounter a whole lot of traffic, though. Plenty of places to stay in Beatty, huh? Any recmmendations?
I think it's one way, but it does get very narrow. I don't know that any one place in Beatty is better than another, just don't stay at the 'ranch' outside of town lol!
Any trip away from home is wonderful, and this was no exception. I'd recommend the ride thru Titus to all who are visiting Death Valley. It's not at all too narrow for a full size. Rhyolite is worth a stop and Scotty's Castle is a must see. Came out of the park on the Big Pine road thru Hanging Rock Canyon - that was a bit hairy, but worth it.
Next trip - end of the month to Fernley - meet up with friends to go Chuckar hunting around Paradise Valley and/or Gerlach.
