Question quick question.

hey everyone, i was looking to sell my 2002 f150 screw because i found a f350 crewcab 6.0L. it has 140,000mi on it. i was wondering for you all that have diesels is this milage acceptable. it is being sold by a ford dealer. and i am a mechanic myself so i will look at it also. but ive never really seen problems with these trucks. anyone else have any warnings for me? and yes i will make a post in the forum specific for this, but just aking for opinions.

i heard that a performance chip helps the 6.0L stop oil leaks. and yes it is sold by a ford dealer like i said before. Why does the year of the motor matter?

Performace chips- Will increase the HP depending on setting and internal engine pressures thus causing failures to expensive engine parts. And some transmission failures. It could cause engine oil leaks.
The 6.0 had engine problems with the 03 model year and engines built before 02/04 so some 04 models have had problems. Engine performance parts indicate that someone was uping the HP for whatever reason. Ford is very specific on warranty on this. Basically if you modify the engine in any way you take the chance of no warranty. BUT you are outside the warranty issue.
All I am saying is "buyer beware and be smart".

I knew one person who had a nice 6.0.
And it was when it first came out.

Guess he got lucky.

well heres the story of what happend. so i talked to the sales lady on the phone all through-out the week. making sure it was there/not sold. so on friday i set up a date to come out and look at the truck. i told her i have two, YES TWO trucks to trade in. she said ok, bring them out and well give you the best deal. well so i put gas in both trucks, drive out there and my dad follows with my other truck. so we get there and talk to a diffent sales guy, we go to look for the truck and its not there!

im like wtf??? so he runs all over the dealership looking for it. turns out it was sold monday and the guy took delivery early sat. morning.

all my hopes for a diesel im my price range were gone. i ran an oasis on it, not one problem. it was clean and everything. now my question is, why couldnt the lady tell me it was sold to begin with?? all the wasted gas for driving two trucks from livonia to fenton(about 60 miles round trip). what a waste, ruined my weekend.
