I want to upgrade my car, need advice!!

Im 25 and have been driving the same, boring, slow '89 Probe GL since I was 17. Its been a great, reliable car but I would like to get something that will atleast get out of its own way. I found a mustang cobra that I would like but I wouldnt want to drive it, or any RWD car durring the winter. Im obviously looking for a car with some power, and front wheel drive. I would like any advice as to which cars I should look out for with a max of $5000.

Ones im considering- Acura Integra GSR (my brother has one, I like it), and a Prelude with a V-tech engine. Any others that I should consider? I dont really want a civic or an accord. Are there any good, fast Celicas for under $5000?

If you're leaning towards the import side, I'd recommend the Integra. My aunt has one that's almost 15 yrs old now, and she's never had any problems. It's a quick little thing too, so I gotta give it some credit there.

My mom drives a 99 Grand prix with the 3.8L and it is a fast, and sporty car with decent gas milage. She paid 7K for it with 80K miles. You could probably find one a little older for about 5000. We also have a 92 Bonneville and that engine is the 3.8 with 200K miles on it. it has never skipped a beat. I find that the pontiacs are very reliable, even though they are a chevy in disguise.

Either one of those cars come with a manual transmission by chance?

Sorry, the Grand prix comes with a 4 speed auto, but you can use the shifter like a manual and put it in 1,2 or 3., and i also think the Bonnevile has a 4 speed auto too. I prefer manuals also but to be honest i will take that car over any of the ones we have. It shifts firm and will spin the tires if the trac control is off. They also make super charged one.

Already got a truck, thank you very much. Is owning a car just for women?
