I have a 1986 F-150 2wd XLT with strong running 351 v8 winsor engine with a 1406 edlebrock carb the engine has less than 83000 mi on it, 3 speed automatic c-6 tranny, 9" 3.00 ratio rear (3rd member). with new axle bearings and seals, new rear pinion seal, new u-joints replaced this summer 2006, summer of 2005 I replaced the the frnt coil springs, shocks, tie rod ends, hub rotors, calibers, brakes, upper and lower ball joints, and two new frnt tires. the frnt end is solid. I also replaced the starter.

This truck is in good running condition and passed NJ State inspection in February 2006 sticker good til 2008.

It has AC that blows cool can use a charge, power windows work, power locks that don't work?, cruise control works, tilt steering, oil pressure gage not working (May just need an oil pressure sensor) has good compression and don't burn any oil. I've done oil changes every 25 - 3000 mi and tune ups every fall. has the split/sliding rear window, duel fuel tanks, for which the rear tank has been diconnected tank is fine just removed the switch and never replaced it, so I only use the frnt tank. all lights and electrical work fine, has a windshield sunshield, has a sunviser shelf with eyeglass, change holder, napkin holder, no sun visors. door panels are missing a couple of fastener along bottom edge. exterior: needs paint, has large dent on the passenger side of the bed behind the wheel, a dent on the tail gate which the handle is not working to open it, there is rust on the roof but no holes, and minor rust in some spots nothing major easy fix.

My reason for selling: This summer I had a rear pinion seal leak. I replaced the seal, when I went to reinstall the drive pinion and yolk/flange I did'nt count the turns it took to get the pinion nut off, so on istall I may have tightend the pinion nut to much, or when I replaced the axle seals and bearings I didn't reinstall the break assembly correctly causing the rear to lock up when driving I truly think it's the breaks. there is no noise when driving just lock up. then I would put it in nautral and rock the truck and the wheels will unlock. so after this test run I brought the truck back to my yard put the jack under the truck to check the breaks.

and Bang! I went to the hospital with a heart attack.

Now I can't do any work on the truck and must sell it. you can read all my post for this pinion job I attempted to do. If the problem is in the drive pinion you may need to replace the crush sleeve, for which I may have crushed a little bit too much. That's it.

Local member looking for a rear fuel tank filler neck. I have an 83 f-150, flareside that has no opening for the rear fuel tank. (must be a replacement bed). The front tank has a fuel door, but my rear tank neck is blocked off and nothing enters the flareside. I am looking for a complete neck from the attachment to the wheel well, gas cap and hoses so I can use my rear tank. Thanks in advance. I am located in Matawan nj

I know its short notice, but I've been very busy at work and just thought to post on the forums....if anyone wants a 1991 F250 Diesel 4x4 for the driveline, one of my employees was in an accident, and although the truck is probably beyond repair, the engine, trans, axles, etc are good and the truck was always maintained very well.
