Am preparing the camper for the Denali Highway run. Will bring the rifle, but not chance of getting one of those Caribou yellow preference tickets. Have not hunted in that area long enough.

Still if I can get a few picture of them bouncing by me, it will be fun. As for taking a moose, well.... might as well spend the gas money at Mr Prime XXXX.

The F360 performed flawlessly on that trip to Denali Hwy. My only question is what happened to the game birds? Didn't see even a one, expect Ravens and one bald eagle. Guess our cold spring did a number on them.

As for game, well first evening out saw what I interpretted to be two white rear ends headed up hill at the limits of my optics. Then I saw cow moose and a calf.

Turn out that wasn't a pair of caribou I was looking at, was nice size legal bull moose flashing the sky at distance far greater then I wanted to pack out. This sure doesn't put anything in the freezer, but at least I can say I saw something.

Well I helped controll the duck population on opening day, brought down 5. Final one of the morning yielded "jewerly". Look forward to getting my certificate to hang on the wall with the other one. Sunday and Monday presented several shots but no birds.
Afternoon grouse hunting provided 3 birds a day, which made for a tasty dinner.
Back at work now......have to drive right past the same pond I shot ducks over, 2-3 times each day for the next 2 weeks. But 1 week is almost down, 1 week to go and then my efforts to controll the duck population resumes..........
"Unlimited Ducks".......................
