5.4 coil pack

i need to replace a coil pack on our 97 expedition. seems pretty straight foward. replace the pack and plug. any comments from the peanut gallery of otherb thing i may need to do? thanx

it's not very hard(depending on which cyl)

You didn't say which coil pack- I'm assuming #4 since this is the one that fails all the time. Have fun it is on the right side at the back. Also double check the heater hose connections to the core b/c that's why most of them fail- coolant drips on it. I work at a Ford dealer and see it very often

so.. mr annomous ford guy . i have a 99 f150 with 5.4
120k miles .. i have repalced the coil pack 3 tims out of warrnety
and ford repplace it 1 under warrenty..

should i have to keeep paying for this ..



i wont tell u told me.....

Has it been #4 each time? I don't think a dealer will warranty it b/c of the mileage. You can put a dry rag over #4 and let it idle a while to see if the heater hoses are leaking. If so, then replace the o-rings in the coupler.

I have a f-150 with a 5.4. The part that the coil bolt threads into has fallen out! Is there a replacement part for this?? How could I fix this??
