Rock guard on lower body and rockers

Rock guard on lower body and rockers
I'm repairing some rust on my wheel arches and lower body of supercab. The usual rust areas. I'm thinking of having a bodyshop apply a rock guard or maybe it's just a bed liner sort of stuff. This would hide some of my imperfections in the bodywork that I did. Do they lay it on black and then color paint over, or it is it a matched color product?
Does anyone have any photos of this done? My truck is red F150 supercab.
What do you guys think?

The 3M stuff is called Rocker Schutz,
(this link shows the coating and the gun, but I ONLY used it for a picture of both, I have never dealt with them, I buy local.)

and needs a specific (but sort of inexpensive) gun to shoot it, but the results are worth it. It does however need to be painted to match. It can be tinted, and that will help the final color match better, but it will need to be finished. The finish is pretty much exactly what the factory finish on rockers looks like, that is, sort of a heavy orange peel texture, but it is great stuff, and it is tough...Lots of restoration places shoot it in engine compartments, trunks, floor pans inside and out, etc, for sound deadening and extra protection, as well.
