I have found about 4 different F100 body styles that clam to be 1964 models.
Does anyone know how many different 1963 F100 styles where made?
I have what a man called a "Styleside" that only has one tail light on each side, round. Chains on the tail gate and I haven't seen another one yet.

If you have one please post a pic so I can see what is or isn't original about this one. I have posted 108 pics of my truck on my website www.azlans.com/fordtruck I don't want to put them on others sites because that is just a lot of pics to keep up with and I have the space to waste.

If you know where I can find an inner fender for this truck please let me know.

This is my first Ford truck so I have no idea where to get parts. I haven't found any on the Internet yet.

Hey dernibor, I do not know how many different kind of trucks there are, I would Guess only 2? styleside and stepside. There are lots of inner finders just like that in Tucson AZ, Looks like a nice truck,The taillights also fit the econoline van and p/u.
as far as Parts, look no further than the vinders here. Lots of great guys here to help you out with any info you need O yea Welcome to the site

The odd bed styleside that is on your 63 is correct for the model year. Ford used 57 to 60 beds up till 63 on 2 wheel drives and up to 66 on some four wheel drives.

The inner rear fender was only sold with the entire bedside, so it wasn't available as a separate part.

FTE member Garbz2 is walking encyclopedia of information. We recently spent nearly 4 hours on the phone hashing things over. He has daily experiences with the 1961/66's, and he KNOWS what will work and what won't.

 

When you say "Model 66" or "Model 81" what does that equate to ?

 

Ford Pickups

99 is a Styleside

66 is a Unibody

83 is a Flareside

81 is the cab only. Add the back of cab equipment: Flareside or Styleside bed, the body style changes.

Note: F100/350's with factory stake beds and platforms (flat beds) have a different body style designation. The platforms are 80's, the stake beds are 86's.

Unibodies have pickup beds integral with the cab.

Newer examples of unibodies: Chevrolet Avalanche, Honda Ridgeline (if you can call this thing a truck ).

1957/71 Rancheros are body style 66, 1972/79 Ranchero's are body style 97. Why the change in styles? Only Ford knows.

 

Good day gents. My name is Alec and I would like to join in on the chat about 63 fords. This is my first time ever doing forums so forgive me if I do not do this correctly. Give you guys a quick over view, my dad sold my grand father our 1963 uni-body brand new, while attending school in Arizona. The truck remained in Az until June of last year after my uncle died how had the truck after my grand father died in 69. My father and I live in Mobile, Alabama and we are doing a frame off restoration on the truck at present time. The truck was in great shape and had very little surface rust considering the truck was in a lot for the last 14 year of its life. I currently have the truck on a rotisserie under going sand blasting down to metal and then epoxy primer with the whole bottom back to origianl color Academy Blue. Eventually the whole truck will receive the same treatment.

My question is this, I need to know color scheme of the engine block, heads, intake maifold ETC..... The engine is a 292 Y-Block with the cross over exhaust. The engine is currently painted ford blue. I have been told by a couple of other people that the engine is to be simi-gloss black. I am putting alot of time and money on this and I want to make sure that I do it correctly the first time. The truck was a speacial order but I don't think that it should be ford blue or have crome valve covers.

Any information you can give me will greatly be appreciated.

 

Welcome! I'm a fellow noob here, too. I just got my 64 F100 flareside Sunday. Someone more knowledgable can confirm, but yours is the same engine as mine and probably should be the same colors. I think mine is original. The engine (block, intake, etc.) is orange. The valve covers are black. The breather was black I think, but was replaced with a tiny chrome thing.

Hope this helps and I also hope someone comes in and confirms or corrects.

Welcome 63 Uni-Body and Macon Ace. This is a good forum and you're not likely to do anything "incorrect" here. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask, as they say. One good rule to follow, though, is if your going to change the subject much, like from body styles to engine colors, it's best to start a new topic, so the original topic doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Having said that, on the subject of engine colors, if you go to the Y-block forum on this site you'll find an absolutely head-spinnig discussion on the topic a few months ago - just don't expect a clear answer!
