Interior lamp relay.WHERE?

Hi,Ive posted before about my dome light acting screwy. Now that I have had a little time to go over things I find thatno light on that circuit.operates.The fuse is good.Or at least all fusses are good.I dont have a fuse schedual(no fuse cover).According to the schematic I have in the haynes manual. All circuits on this Fuse run through the Interior lamp relay.I'm thinking this is my culprit.Unless you have some other ideas. Can you tell me where the Interior lamp relay is located?I pretty much have alot of the interior panels off from when I was checking the grounds and wirring.
Thank you all in advance.

Two things,

1. do your pwr door locks work correctly? I have a friend who has an 01 lariat and we have been trouble shooting and found the interior light is also tied into the door locks/door ajar light. is your Door ajar light on? If so it is probably the lock actuator.
2. since you have an XLT, XLT's were shipped with no light bulbs in the door panel lights(fords way of saving a buck.) make sure there is a bulb behind the cover, and the socket is connected to the door wiring harness(some were, some weren't)

The interior Dome lamp, Cargo Lamp, Coutesy Lamp fuse is #14 on the inside fuse panel. 2nd row of small fuses, 3rd one down from the top.

Yes the power door locks work. as does the ajar light

there was no socket in the courtesy light recpticle. So I took of the door panel and found absolutly no wirring provisions for a courtesy light.Dont know if reg cab has anything to do with it.

And thanks for the fuse locations. They checked out ok.

About a month after I bought my truck back in '01, I had the same problem.
Turned out to be the GEM module. It controls the pw, radio & light delay.
Starting in '02 they used a different module.
If your truck's key fob doesn't work while the engine is running you have the same GEM.

Hope that steers you in the right direction good luck,

Austin

Yes.I've been rootin around and narrowed it down to all the interior lights on the blk/lt.blu circuit.fuse is good.there is a relay before it hits the lights.According to my diagram.I think I found the relay just now by accident. In the center of the dash, under is the flasher relay rite next to it are two smaller 5 pin relays.one,I believe,is the grn/yel.circuit.For the map lights and beyond. The other has a blk/lt.blu.wire to it I believe(not sure) thats where my problem lies.I'll try more tomarrow. But certainly willing to listen to any other ideas. All are welcome and thanks all for the help.

So Austion with the new GEM module you can still operate the key fob when the key is on? I have tried finding a way to get the key fob to work when the engine is running but have had no luck.

I wish there was. What I ended up doing was adding a remote start w/keyless entry unit. It works independently so you can run it and lock the doors etc. Also the factory key fob still works (not when running but like normal) so when it gets valet parked or such I can hit the valet button and give them the factory fob with a key on it. No fumbling with keyrings as I never leave my house or shop keys with a valet.

It has a delayed shut down so it's great for the turbo and tranny to cool after hard a run. I also added window roll up module which is awesome for when it starts raining or I leave it out at night. I just hit the button and everything is closed up.

There's no way to have the key fob work while running until the '02 and later models. They have a different GEM.
