Has anybody out there ever heard of these from goodyear outside of sams club?
they have what i call a sorry allweather tread on them they stunk in snow last winter thats when i put on my BFGs but with gas going what it is i had these goodyears in my garage they ride great on the highway they are a 245/75/16
load range E same as my bfgs but the gas mileage thing was adding up.
I was just curious if anybody else ever heard of these....Im in the market for a new set of tires but im going to a 265/75/16 or a 265/70/16.Any ideas

are you running load E's on your ranger?

Personally I like the firestone destination a/t's on the rangers, i think it looks nice. Otherwise some other good choices would be another set of BFG's, maybe some dueler revo's, or just regular dueler a'ts. There are also dayton timberline a/t's, and they just came out with the timberline a/t 2's. which are very similar to the destination a/t's as far as tread design goes. Timberlines woudl be if you are looking for a cheaper tire, and revo's if you want the best.

 

I do not have these tires - yet, but I was considering them for my 150 as soon as the junks I have now wear out.

I only considered them because of the E rating, so if you buy them let me know how you like the tires.

 

the reason i was asking if anybody had these tires is i never heard of them until i went to sams and was looking for a replacement for my bfgs even though they had plenty of tread left on them. the gas mileage i was getting with them was killing me at the time. the wranglers ride great and have a smooth ride the wet traction is marginal and the snow well that sucks. until i put it in 4wd.
the gas mileage went up over the bfgs during normal driving.As for why the load E rating i am a vollie firefighter/emt and use the ranger to respond to lots of different calls and includes driving over lots of gravel roads and having the extra strength and extra belts helps in not getting flats!!. but after getting stuck in the mud a few times im gonna put my bfgs back on they still have 8/32 of tread on them.dont care what my mpg goes to just tired of getting stuck in fields and stuff

I just replaced those same good years on my truck and i thought they sucked, they spun in the rain, tread wore fast, no traction offroad. I replaced them with Dayton Timberline A/T 265/75/16 so far they have been great ( only had em three days) but they have taken me through places in two wheel drive that the goodyears had to be in four wheel drive

 

I bought my '03 new and couldn't wait for the Wrangler AT's it came with to wear out. I replaced them with Firestone Destinations and these are great tires. They're great in snow, mud, and don't hydroplane like the Wranglers did. The Firestones have a more aggressive tread design that the Goodyears but they ride a lot better. I just checked my mileage and I'm getting 22mpg highway. That's better than what I got on the Goodyears

 

i have these on my truck LT245/75/16 at/d2, they are absolute crap, i got stuck on an ice cube(sarcasm), and in soft dirt on a summer only road(not sarcasm). they are very bad in winter conditions, but, if used for highway only, they are a good traveling tire. i have a 2002 f150 xl with a 4.6l and have gotten 27 to 30 mpg on the highway at a constant 70mph(115kph). so it is really your choice...i will be investing in 2 winter tires before the next snowfall!!!
